New photovoltaic power plants
strengthen our green infrastructure

At EUROVIA SK, we believe that an ecological approach is not just a vision, but a part of everyday reality. In line with our sustainable development strategy, in 2025 we expanded our network of photovoltaic power plants with two new installations—at our asphalt plant sites in Beladice (near Nitra) and Vydumanec (near Prešov).

Solar panels with a capacity of 90 kW were installed on the roofs of aggregate storage facilities at both locations. After successful functional testing, the power plants were connected to the distribution grid. The electricity produced will be used directly in operations, mainly in the production of asphalt mixtures, and also across the entire EUROVIA SK company thanks to a new energy-sharing system.

Prior to this expansion, we operated four photovoltaic power plants with a total output of 103.34 kW. The new installations, with an output of 180 kW, increase our capacity to 283.34 kW. This step represents a significant milestone in our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and effectively use renewable energy sources in construction.

By expanding our solar infrastructure, we reaffirm our commitment to the environment while strengthening the energy self-sufficiency of our operations.

Ecology is part of our DNA, and we don’t just talk about it—we act on it. At EUROVIA SK sites, we use photovoltaics to generate electricity. In 2024, we built and commissioned photovoltaic power plants in Košice, Poprad, Prešov, and Zbudza.

Part of the funding for building our power plants came from the Operational Programme "Quality of the Environment", which is specifically focused on supporting the use of renewable energy sources. The electricity produced in this environmentally friendly way now powers the daily operations of our sites, supports product manufacturing, and is also used to charge electric vehicles.
